Students taking the Multimedia University (MMU) Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) Electronics majoring Microwave and Communications programme will undergo various aspects of engineering especially microwave in communications such as electromagnetic theory, microwave components and circuits, electromagnetic interference, microwave measurement techniques, antenna and propagation, microwave devices, remote sensing technology, mobile and satellite communications, RF transistor circuit design, RF devices fabrication and packaging and radar systems design and analysis.
Other related fields includes analogue and digital communications, digital signal processing, information theory, data communications, computer networking, optoelectronics and optical communication are also included.
Elementary engineering subjects such as engineering mathematics, circuit theory, field theory, analog electronics, digital logic design, circuits and signals, algorithm and data structure, microprocessor systems and interface, power electronics and instrumentation and control systems are also taught.
To produce an all-rounded engineer, a good coverage of subjects in management, economics, accounting and law is also emphasised. In the third year, students are required to do industrial training and carry out graduation projects to provide them with useful industrial experience and research training.

All engineering degrees awarded by the MMU Faculty of Engineering are accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Council of Malaysia and the Board of Engineers, Malaysia. Furthermore, Malaysia is a signatory of the Washington Accord. Hence, MMU engineering graduates are recognised and able to work at the signatory countries such as Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Ireland, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Taiwan, UK and USA.
