The Multimedia University (MMU) Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) Electronics majoring in Bio-Instrumentation programme offered under the Faculty of Engineering and Technology in Melaka is designed to produce engineers of high calibre who will lead; facilitate and support the development of biotechnology; health and life sciences industries in Malaysia.

Bioinstrumentation is the application of advanced engineering technology to problems in biology and medicine. Areas of interest include design and fabrication of mechanical and electronic instrumentation and equipment; and development of laboratory automation and data acquisition systems. Besides sharing common core subjects with other Electronics Engineering students; B.Eng (Hons) Electronics majoring in Bio-Instrumentation students will have the opportunity to learn subjects such as Biology for Engineer; Organic Chemistry; Anatomy and Physiology; Biomechanics; Biomaterials; Biometrics; Bioelectric; Biosensors; Telemedicine Technology as well as other related subjects to enable them to be competent in tackling the problems faced by engineers in Bio-Instrumentation.

The Multimedia University (MMU) Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) Electronics majoring in Robotics and Automation programme provides a complete undergraduate training in robotics and automation fields; such as advanced robotics; machine vision; applied dynamics; knowledge system and neural computing; digital control system; microprocessor system; automation and power technology. In addition; the students are also exposed to basic engineering training in circuit and signal analysis; field theory; electronics; control theory; power systems; machines; communications and engineering mathematics. To better prepare the students for the engineering professional career; courses in basic management; economics; accounting and law are also included. This programme also provides students with industrial experience and research training; by requiring students to complete industrial training and graduation projects.

The Multimedia University (MMU) Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) Electronics majoring in Robotics and Automation programme aims for the following outcomes:

Engineering students taking the Multimedia University (MMU) Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) Electronics majoring in Telecommunications programme under the Faculty of Engineering will be exposed to engineering fields in analog and digital communications; antenna and propagation; mobile and satellite communications; telephony; information theory; data communications; electromagnetic waves and optical communications. In addition; engineering studies in electronics; circuit and signal analysis; microprocessor interfacing; computer system; multimedia technology; control theory; programming and power system are also provided. Substantial training in engineering mathematics is also included in the programme. A good coverage of subjects in management; economics; accounting and law is also emphasised. Students are required to take industrial training and graduation projects to provide them with useful industrial experience and research training. The programme is designed to be a four-year engineering course in telecommunications.

The Multimedia University (MMU) Faculty of Engineering and Technology offers a four-year course leading to the degree of Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) majoring in Mechanical Engineering programme. Students enrolling in this course will be required to study traditional subjects such as Engineering Mathematics; Mechanics; Fluid Mechanics; Thermal Sciences; Material Science; Engineering Design; Theory of Machines and Mechanisms; Control Theory; Industrial and Systems Sciences. Students will also be required to study subjects from other Engineering disciplines; Arts and Humanities and non-traditional subjects such as Multimedia Technology and Cyberpreneurship

Apart from classroom studies; students will be expected to excel in the laboratories. In the final year; students will engage in industrial training to expose them to the engineering working environment.

The Multimedia University (MMU) Diploma in Telecommunication Engineering (DTE) programme is designed to provide students with the necessary skills which would equip them for employment in network fault diagnosis; equipment repair and installations; service and network planning with telecommunication companies. Subjects offered in this programme includes transmission theory; telecommunications signalling; communication measurements and techniques; and advanced data communications. In addition; students would be exposed to basic telephony; networks and fundamentals of microprocessor.
