Achievements

HELP University - Award and Recognition

HELP University has made an indelible mark on higher education because it has evolved a strong tradition of achievement and excellence and a culture of learning. Thousands of students have passed through our portals to stake a place in the professions, many of them proud winners of high honours and numerous scholarships, prizes and awards for academic excellence. HELP University was the first educational institution in the world to offer the University of London External Programme's Diploma in Economics outside of the United Kingdom back in 1986. In 2008, HELP University became one of the only six institutions in the world bestowed with a rare award by the University of London for its contribution to the success of the University of London External Programme . Till date, HELP has an impressive track record of more than 2,000 UOL graduates, with 40 students awarded First Class Honours degrees to date.

The magnitude of these achievements is all the more amazing for the fact that the University of London sets rigorous standards befitting its status as the world's leading institution for the study of the social sciences. Excelling in this demanding programme provides an object lesson in what can be achieved at HELP. Never in the field of private education in Malaysia has a college recorded so many unique successes and accomplishments. We have broken many records and set new trends and standards for others to follow.

The basis of all these achievements is an educational philosophy that emphasises sound classroom management. All programmes are delivered by a faculty that matches the best in the world. They are in turn supported by a system of tutoring and consultation that nourishes and reinforces the talents of the students to prepare them for rigorous examinations and challenging assignments.

These achievements have become part of our culture. Year in, year out, these successes are being repeated. In 2002, for example, for the ninth consecutive year, HELP students again won all the three scholarships awarded by Standard Chartered Bank for completion of their studies at the London School of Economics. Being nurtured in this environment, all students who join us become achievers themselves.

Our achievements cover all fields: academic, professional, sports and community service. And take all forms: honorary degrees, academic distinctions and prizes, scholarships and prizes. They are given by renowned institutions from all parts of the world. Naturally, our reputation as a college of achievers has now extended worldwide.

The high standards we have painstakingly achieved are guaranteed and, where necessary, enhanced by a system of Quality Assurance by our partner universities.

Further recognition of our quality has been granted in the form of the ISO 9001:2000 certification award for the Development and Provision of Services in Higher Education.

All these achievements take place within a sophisticated administrative infrastructure tasked with operationalising an enlightened philosophy of education born of hard experience; applying rigorous standards of quality control and evaluation; putting into effect a pedagogy of learning distilled from decades of involvement in all levels of higher education; and implementing a system of pastoral care aimed at the all-round development of students as balanced, positive, confident and self-assured individuals. The quality of leadership guiding the progress of the college has been acknowledged through the award of multiple honorary doctorate degrees to our CEO and Executive Director/ Founder by partner universities in Australia and the UK.

That is why HELP graduates are highly prized individuals who are warmly welcomed at top universities in the world, including Oxford, Cambridge, LSE and Chicago, for postgraduate studies, or keenly sought by top companies like Motorola, Ernst & Young, Shell, Ericsson, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, and Goldman Sachs for their versatility and leadership abilities.

As an international university, we have achieved breakthrough results, set new benchmarks of academic standards and established a great tradition of excellence and achievement. We have become a model.

Student Services

HELP University Department of Student Affairs

DEPARTMENT OF STUDENT AFFAIRS

The Department of Student Affairs (DSA) was established to cater to the non-academic well-being of the students, particularly in extra-curricular activities. The role of DSA is to provide a conducive out-of-classroom learning environment for students and serves as an important channel to solicit and receive feedback and suggestions from students. The variety of clubs and societies under the administration of DSA also provides an opportunity for students to cultivate their talents and leadership capabilities, grooming them to be multi-skilled and all-rounded individuals.

Among the wide range of activities organised by these groups includes talks, quizzes, debates, forums, lectures (often by distinguished foreign academicians and professionals), etc. Selected student leaders are often given the opportunity to attend team-building camps.

DSA is at Main Block, located at Exit 12, Pusat Bandar Damansara, and 5th Floor, Wisma HELP, Jalan Dungun, Damansara Heights.
