Overview
MAHSA was established in earnest in the year 2005 in Pusat Bandar Damansara, Kuala Lumpur with the belief that higher education in the field of healthcare is a vital cog in the development of the nation. The College is the brainchild of Datuk Dr. Hj. Mohamed Haniffa who is CEO and Principal of the College. Datuk Dr. Hj. Mohamed Haniffa is a clinical practitioner of medicine whose vision involved creating a centre of excellence in Medical, Nursing and Allied Health Sciences Education in this region thereby developing qualified and compassionate healthcare professionals to serve the needs of our great nation.This is in line with the Prime Minister's vision that Malaysia should become a centre for academic excellence.
In order to generate a pool of skilled healthcare professionals, it was agreed upon form the start that the College would gather the brightest minds in the country and abroad to help nurture the minds of our students and hone their skills. Furthermore, in the field of healthcare, theoretical knowledge though important is nonetheless secondary to clinical exposure and thus it was decided that students of MAHSA must gain practical experience at the earliest stage during their tenure. Finally, state of the art facilities were created to complement the innovative teaching curriculum and a highly qualified and motivated teaching staff.
Within a short span of time, our students outgrew their original premises and thereby a second campus was set up in Jalan University, Kuala Lumpur. From a modest start with the Pre - University Cambridge GCE A’ Levels and the three year Diploma in Nursing program in 2005, now MAHSA is proudly recognized as one of the premier colleges that focuses in Allied Health Sciences Professional training. Training programs offered have expanded to include Diploma in Physiotherapy, Diploma in Medical Imaging, Diploma in Environmental Health, Diploma in Pharmacy and the Diploma in Biomedical Sciences (Medical Lab Technology). In the year 2006, MAHSA in collaboration with the University of Northumbria (UK), University of Teesside (UK) and University of Liverpool John Moores (UK), MAHSA is also offering the B.Sc (Hons) in Nursing Practice Development and the B.Sc (Hons) in Nursing Studies, B.Sc (Hons) in Biomedical Sciences, B.Sc (Hons) in Physiotherapy, M.Sc in Nursing Practice Development, M.Sc in Healthcare respectively.
In continuance of the success in the existing Allied Health programs, MAHSA plans to strategically position itself in the training of undergraduate medical professionals. Among these programs include dentistry and medicine. The Dentistry undergraduate program began in September 2007 along with two other programs; Diploma in Dental Technology and Certificate in Dental Surgery Assistants. In 2008, the Degree in Physiotherapy was started.

Counseling
A student’s life is filled with trials and tribulations, the road to success can be a long and winding one. This can be made all the more difficult especially for students who leave the comforts of their homes to come study in a foreign city or in an unfamiliar country. There are definitely moments when a student is feeling low and this is exactly when he or she needs someone to talk to.
Issues such as stress, anxiety, depression, grief or loss, lacking in confidence, relationship difficulties and family conflicts can be brought to the attention of our trained counselors. These sessions are confidential and held in private. The counselor’s role is to listen to the student’s problems; and then try to offer advice and help to the student on how to overcome his or her difficulties. Information shared between the student and the counselor will be guarded with the utmost respect and privacy.
Orientation
The Orientation program is held for a week and is designed to allow the new students to interact with each other and make friends with their fellow classmates. The event starts of with the ‘Ice – Breaking’ ceremony that allows the students to mingle. Furthermore they are encouraged to meet and get to know their respective lecturers and the relevant administrative staff. Students are also taken on a tour of both the campuses. The Orientation week ends on a high note with performances by the new batch for their fellow students, lecturers and senior administrative staff.

Financial Assistance
MAHSA Scholarship
MAHSA College provides scholarships to deserving students who genuinely have financial constraints. These students must have good grades for them to be eligible for this scholarship. The award of the scholarship is at the discretion of the management.
PTPTN Loan
This is the National Education Fund and is offered to Malaysians only. The loan for the diploma and the degree programmes is RM 20,000 a year. It’s an easy repayment scheme with low interest rates. For more information, visit www.ptptn.gov.my.
Kuwait Finance Loan
MAHSA University College has got a special arrangement with Kuwait Finance House to provide study loans for needy and deserving students. To obtain this loan, no collateral is necessary. Facilities
Facilities in MAHSA University College
We at MAHSA University College are constantly striving to maintain the highest standards in terms of teaching as well as the quality of the facilities and other amenities available for our students. The Jalan University Campus (JUC) has undergone a facelift whereby RM 10 million have been spent in providing better sporting facilities and other amenities. Our students are now able to enjoy facilities such as a gymnasium, swimming pool, recreational centre along with an ultra modern study area. Furthermore staff amenities have also been upgraded.
Transportation
Students are required to travel from the Pusat Bandar Damansara Campus to Jalan University Campus and vice versa for classes.
Furthermore, students are also required to travel to attend various clinical postings. The College owns a fleet of buses as well as vans for this purpose.

On-Campus Accomodation
The Jalan University Campus (JUC), serves as the ‘on-campus’ accommodation which can easily house 3000 students. The rooms range from single occupancy to twin sharing or triple sharing with the choice of either air – condition units or non air condition units.

Off-Campus Accomodation
Wisma Lensa, which is a 5 min walk from the Pusat Bandar Campus (PBD). These are service apartments; each apartment has 3 rooms and is fully furnished.
Pelangi and Palm Spring Apartments in Kota Damansara, which is approximately 5 minute drive to the main campus (PBD) and 10 minutes to JUC.
Puteri Apartments in Brickfields, which is about 10 minutes from both campuses. Students will be shuttled to and fro by buses or vans provided by the College.

Public Amenities
Transportation
From Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA)
From the airport, the MAHSAUC campus can be reached by KLIA Express Rail Link (30 minutes and RM35) or by taxi (about 1 hour and about RM65).
KLIA Express Rail Link (ERL)
The KLIA Express Rail Link (or ERL) station is located on the ground floor of the airport. It will take 30 minutes to reach the KL Sentral Station (the nearest station to MAHSAUC), where taxis are available for the journey (about 10 minutes) to the MAHSAUC campus.
Taxi
Students with a lot of luggage are advised to take a taxi directly from the airport to the campus. The journey will take about one hour to MAHSAUC campus. Payment for taxis can be made by purchasing taxi coupons available from a counter just before you enter the arrivals hall, or at another counter in the arrivals hall.
Road
From Kuala Lumpur, Petaling Jaya and other areas.The MAHSAUC Medical Faculty campus is a short drive from the centre of Kuala Lumpur and is easily accessible via the Federal Highway and Jalan Universiti or via Jalan Pantai Baru. Just turn right into Jalan Elmu.
Putra Light Rail Transit (LRT)
Students and visitors travelling by the Putra Light Rail Transit (LRT) should disembark at the Universiti station. The Rapid KL Buses ( U85 ) and Metro 12 are available from the station to MAHSAUC Medical Faculty campus (the journey is about 10 minutes).
