    The Project Phase 1 (Investigation) in Mechatronics will enable students to take on R&D with commercialization. The Mechatronic Engineering Final Year Project Phase 2 (Implementation) also develops the academic and practical aspects of your chosen areas of study and reinforces your independent learning skills.     The Multimedia University (MMU) Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) Electronics majoring in Robotics and Automation programme provides a complete undergraduate training in robotics and automation fields; such as advanced robotics; machine vision; applied dynamics; knowledge system and neural computing; digital control system; microprocessor system; automation and power technology. In addition; the students are also exposed to basic engineering training in circuit and signal analysis; field theory; electronics; control theory; power systems; machines; communications and engineering mathematics. To better prepare the students for the engineering professional career; courses in basic management; economics; accounting and law are also included. This programme also provides students with industrial experience and research training; by requiring students to complete industrial training and graduation projects.

    The Multimedia University (MMU) Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) Electronics majoring in Robotics and Automation programme aims for the following outcomes:

  • Brief Description:

    Mechatronic Engineering is concerned with the creation; design and building of intelligent machines. This new breed of engineer has to master skills in mechanical; electronic and computer engineering and work in a hybrid manner; meeting an ever-increasing need in industry where complexity of projects is rising and resources are limited. The main areas of activity are:

    * Project management and multidisciplinary approach to getting projects completed 
    * Fundamental design and build and ways of embedding intelligence and interfacing to the real world
    * Fit and forget: construction of machines to run autonomously
    * Process control and plant condition monitoring and control
    * Consultation and advice in optimal methods of building systems and connecting subsystems together

    The Mechatronic Engineering course provides the technical and creative know-how needed to achieve the best possible engineering career path.
