  • English Requirements:

    Depending on the programme of study; instruction at IIUM is carried in English and/or Arabic. Applicants wishing to pursue studies in programmes taught in English must obtain:
    * English Medium: Average Band 6.0; 550 paper-based; 213 computer-based
    * Arabic Medium: Average Band 5.5; 525 paper-based; 196 computer-based
    * If they do not have either of these qualifications; applicants may sit for the IIUM-administered English Placement Test (EPT); in which they must obtain at least 6.0 points to fulfill the requirement.
    * Applicants interested in programmes taught in Arabic must obtain an exemption after sitting for the IIUM-administered Arabic Placement Test (APT).
    * Applicants who are unable to submit satisfactory results in any of the tests above may take up language proficiency courses at the university to fulfill the admission requirements.

    • Brief Description:

    This undergraduate programme provides training in the broad area of basic psychology with opportunity to study some specialized courses in applied psychology discipline. It prepares students for employment in areas related to psychology and the pursuit of postgraduate studies in a specialized area.

    Programme Description
    The programme requires students to complete 134 credit hours. It aims at producing graduates who are knowledgeable about Islamic and conventional perspectives on Psychology to enable them to provide expertise and skills in serving the country and the ummah.

    A complete application should consist of the following items:
    * A complete; signed application form; and
    * Certified true Copy of Transcripts / Higher School Certificate (HSC) / GCE 'A' Level or equivalent; or
    * Certified true Copy of GCE 'O' Level or equivalent; and Recommendation Letter (at least one form the authority bodies); and
    * Applicant's Financial Statement and/or Undertaking Letter; or
    * Applicant's Undertaking or Sponsorship Letter from the Government (for MBBS; Dentistry & Pharmacy applicants)
    * Other Requirements: If deemed necessary; applicants may also be required to attend an interview and/or take an entrance test conducted by the Board of Admissions.

    • Brief Description:
    The Monash University Bachelor of Psychological Science and Business course is designed primarily for students who wish to apply psychological training to work in a business environment.
     
    Students acquire a fundamental understanding of the major principles of psychology and are exposed to a broad cross section of topics relevant to applied and professional psychology. They also acquire a basic knowledge of core business disciplines and specialised knowledge in one business area; and develop an understanding of psychology in a business environment.
     
    The Bachelor of Psychological Science and Business course comprises an undergraduate major in psychology accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council, core business units, and a major sequence offered by the Faculty of Business and Economics on the campus at which the student is enrolled.
     
    With over ten years of presence in Malaysia, the Sunway campus of Monash University is an exemplar of transnational education. The current campus was purpose-built in 2007 at a cost of some RM200m. At present there are some 5100 students and 500 staff; with growth projected to lead to over 6000 students and 600 staff. About one quarter of the student body is international. The campus continues to develop steadily; and now enjoys excellent facilities for world-class education and research. All academic staff members are expected to engage in scholarly research.

    As a Monash Arts graduate, you will have a solid understanding of contemporary issues and critical thinking skills, preparing you for the workforce as well as future postgraduate study.
     
    Arts provides a set of general, portable and lasting skills vital to any career such as the ability to research an issue, present an argument, analyse information, communicate clearly and relate well to people.
     
    There are no compulsory units. You can choose from a wide selection of studies and complete at least one major, one minor and a first-year sequence in arts.
     
    Elective units or a second major, may be chosen from arts or an approved area taught by another faculty.
    A Honours Degree of Bachelor of Arts can be obtained with an additional 1 year of study.

    As life experiences in this modern world assume increasing complexities and the change in social landscape may cause complications and confusion, many turn to the study of Psychology to understand the functional equilibrium between lifestyle; cultures and the human being.
     
    The UCSI University B.A. (Hons) Psychology degree programme is constructed to equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills, which will assist them to achieve healthy adjustments in their social existence and occupational well-being.
     
    This degree programme exhibits two major features namely, a balanced course exposure and three Co-Operative Placements through workplace experience.
