  • Entry Requirement:

    (a) Bachelor Degree with 2nd Class (Hons) CGPA of 2.67 and above in a related field from MMU or equivalent from a recognised university; or
    (b) Bachelor Degree with 2nd Class (Hons) CGPA between 2.00 and 2.67; in a related field from MMU or equivalent from a recognised university AND evidence of 1 year of relevant working experience; or
    (c) Any other academic qualifications equivalent to (a) and (b); as approved by Senate.
    * An applicant with non-honours degree may be considered; if he has attained a GRE / GMAT score (General test and at least 1 of the Subject Test) that is acceptable to the respective Faculty.

  • English Requirements:

    * TOEFL Paper-Based 580 (Computer Based 237; Internet Based 92); or
    * IELTS overall band score of 6.5; or
    * A credit in 1119 English Examination; or
    * Min. score of 580 in the MMU English Language Proficiency Test; or
    * MUET overall band score of 4; or
    * Other qualification which is of equivalent level as decided by the Senate of the University.

    All applicants MUST MEET the required English Language requirement before being admitted into the approved programme of study.

    Upon recommendation of the Faculty; Senate may waive the English requirement for students who have obtained their Bachelor or Masters Degree; where English has been used as the sole medium of instruction or as one of the media of instruction. The Faculty shall interview the candidates and recommend to the Senate for waiver; where appropriate.

    If the student lacks i.e. research skills or a good command of English upon admission to the programme; then each faculty reserves the right to have the student acquire such competency.

  • Brief Description:

    The Multimedia University Master of Engineering in Telecommunications programme has been specially-designed based on the extensive university research experience and industrial inputs to address the need of the engineers and other technical professionals in face of the challenges in the telecommunication industry - maximisation of network systems capacity; communication mobility and portability and data security.

    This programme will benefit students in the following areas:
    * Strengthening the understanding of fundamental and advanced communication concepts and principles.
    * In depth know-how in telecommunication fundamentals and advanced and emerging communication technologies and techniques.
    * Understanding and design know-how for telecommunication systems and networks.
    * Good understanding of the telecommunication industry and market forces.
    * Top-up for membership applications to the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).
