    The Master of Science (MSc) programme offered by the Taylor s Graduate School (TGS) at Taylor s University is a research-based programme. We aim to admit students who show good research potentials demonstrated by their undergraduate achievements. This programme of advanced studies prepares students for careers in teaching and research in higher education and research institutions; and employment for specialist positions in private and public sectors which require advanced research capabilities. We have established research clusters based on our faculty s interests and expertise:

    1. Natural Products & Drug Discovery

    Cardiovascular diseases
    Signal transduction inhibitors
    Bioactive compounds in micro-organisms/edible plant extracts
    Anti-infective agents

    In this cluster, researchers screen, identify and investigate the significant roles of bioactive compounds in living micro-organisms and edible local plants as antioxidants, anti-infectivity agents and signal transduction inhibitors in neurological disorders and anticancer pathways. They also explore the effectiveness of identified bioactive compounds in preventing and/or treating cardiovascular diseases, cancer and neurological disorders, as well as the development of alternative antibiotic, antiviral and antifungal drugs. 

    2. Environmental Prevention & Control 

    Environmental management
    Water and food quality assessment and monitoring

    In this cluster, researchers focus on identifying environmental problems through environmental assessment. This leads to the development of mechanisms or processes to ensure environmental legal compliance and improve environmental performance in saving resources, waste disposal and many other areas. In addition, they investigate and develop microbial pollutant indicators to detect and monitor the source of microbial contaminants in water and food systems.
